About Us

Established in 1985, Harris Family Farms owns and manages diversified farming operations throughout the valley, from Chowchilla to the west, to Madera in the south and Le Grand to the north.

Russell visits the properties most days and is involved in every key decision. With a reputation for top yields and attention to detail, Harris Family Farms currently farms more than 17,000 acres of almonds, wine grapes, raisins, walnuts, nursery trees, and row crops. Most of the acreage is owned and farmed directly, with about 3,360 acres managed for others.

What We Do

The farming operation is the heart of Harris Family Enterprises. From land selection, production techniques, and ag technology—to raising crops and selling to markets locally and around the world—Russell Harris directs a team of professionals that have earned the respect of the industry.

Every modern metric of efficiency is calculated into every day of work. Leaders and crews oversee soil management, water conservation, pesticide management, harvesting techniques, and a variety of tasks to achieve maximum return on investment—for our holdings as well as those we manage for others.

Every farm starts with land acquisition; careful consideration is applied to essential factors such as sustainability, soil prep, planting, irrigating, crew management, harvesting, and a host of support duties.

Our in-house machine shop can fabricate just about anything the operation needs. From quick repairs to custom manufacturing, the machine shop lowers costs and adds remarkable efficiency.
